Maureen Onwunali is a Dublin-born Nigerian poet and two-time national slam champion whose work blends emotional depth with sharp cultural insight. Currently a Resident Artist at the Roundhouse, she’s fast becoming one of the most exciting voices in the UK spoken word scene. Maureen has performed across the country and been commissioned or featured by leading institutions including BFI, Pearson, Penguin, BBC Radio London, and the Poetry Society. Her writing explores themes of identity, womanhood, heritage, and resistance — always with lyrical boldness and a powerful stage presence.
