Takunda is a London-based poet with a voice as bold as it is tender, she writes to unsettle, to stir, and to soothe. Her work dances between the personal and the political, weaving striking imagery with unflinching truth. Whether on stage or on the page, Takunda explores themes of identity, justice, faith, and liberation, often through the lens of her Zimbabwean heritage. A former World Poetry Slam finalist, Takunda’s poetry has been described as “harrowing, healing, and holy all at once.” Her performances are not simply recitations—they are reckonings. She doesn’t just tell stories; she builds altars out of them. Her style is unmistakable: a voice that grips, imagery that stuns, and a presence that refuses to be ignored. Takunda believes poetry is not just art, but activism, ancestry, and an act of survival. Her mission? To remind us that language has power. And she intends to use every word.
