Tia-Zakura Camilleri is an interdisciplinary storyteller and activist based in Cardiff, blending poetry, theatre-making, journalism, and directing to amplify underrepresented voices. Known for her rhythmic approach to “flowetry,” Tia uses spoken word as a powerful tool for social change, performing across the UK and delivering interactive workshops that inspire the next generation of storytellers. She is a member of the Wales Millennium Centre Youth Advisory Board and Design Group, a creative associate with Fio, and a freelance journalist for BeXcellence Magazine. Her work spans page and stage — from exhibiting poetry at WMC to performing in Fio’s production Landing Bolts, where she also discovered a love of directing. She is currently writing and directing her debut documentary, Unloc’d. Driven by a deep passion for community, Tia is committed to making poetry and performance accessible to young, marginalised groups — paving the way for future creatives to find representation, belonging, and bold expression.
